PART I: SUMMARY PLAN DESCRIPTION & FAQ's

Before we get down to the basics of the Plan, we advise you to read the definitions contained in Part III and refer to them as you are reading this booklet.

A pension plan has unique terms that carry special meaning for the Plan and under the law. Please look carefully at the definition of "Individual Account", "Accumulated Share", "Participant", "Employer", "Year of Service", "Hour of Service", and "Contributions", etc., which are contained in Part III of this booklet starting on page 22. This will enable you to become more familiar with the Plan. Once again, if you have any questions, do not hesitate to ask the Union or the Contract Administrator.

Always bear in mind that the written terms of the Plan, which are reproduced on pages 22 through 45, govern (see Part III), no matter what anyone tells you.

The Plan may be amended from time to time by the Trustees. Such Amendments will be posted to the Plan's website (www.ITPEUBENEFITS.ORG) and will be distributed to the Participants by their shop stewards.

In addition to Amendments, the Plan website contains the following:
  1. The Summary Plan Description
  2. The Plan
  3. The Summary Annual Report, which provides annual financial data and an explanation of your right to additional information.
  4. A "What's New?" area for useful information that may arise from time to time.
You may also view your Individual Account, download forms, such as application forms, and electronically submit certain information to the Plan Office, such as change of address, through the Plan's website. Simply click on the "Pension Login" link and follow the prompts.

The Board of Trustees has designated the ITPEU Pension Plan as a profit sharing plan pursuant to Section 401(a)(27)(B) of the Internal Revenue Code.
